Community Tasting Notes 4

    November 9, 2019 - 4 hour slow ox.
    Dark garnet.
Intoxicating complex nose, waves of truffle, rose, all sorts of complex florals, confection, red fruits, heathland, mineral.
Lovely intense palate, emulates the nose, more primary/secondary, fresh, dark fruits, charcuterie, Turkish delight, tar. No signs of tiring. Delicious.

January 31, 2019 - Medium red with very brown highlights. Very roasted black fruit nose, earthy ripe and intense. In the background was a bit of orange peel and celery. Delicious earthy roasted plum and raisin flavours and a beautiful not yet resolved finish.

Not a typical Barolo experience but a great wine. I think it could still improve or at least hold for another decade plus.

December 18, 2016 - Combined Birthday Lunch (Silk, SICC): A bit in the simpler side, but remarkably alive and quite pleasurable. The nose was classic Barolo, with notes of black fruit seasoned with herbs and spices, and layered with just a touch of mature funk. There was a nicely matured roundness on the palate too, with tannins having softened, and a decent acidity framing a pleasant mouthful of warm spices and herbs infused into a black fruited core. Nothing outstanding - but this was a simple, pleasant, maturing Nebbiolo with the chops to age for quite a long time yet.

July 13, 2016 - A fabulously fresh bottle with all sorts of jubey red fruit action. There's some lipstick and a touch of porcini too. It is fresh, bright, crunchy and detailed.
