February 15, 2024 - Still a wonderful MV Shiraz.
Great depth of fruit and lovely mouth fell. -

January 14, 2023 - Some quantity of sediment. Hard to decant with the strongly coloured glass.
Deep red, right to the edge.
Spicy aged shiraz. Shows its French oak component. Showing some aged complexity but still very youthful at nearly 11 years.
Palate: Rich McLaren Vale Shiraz but with an elegance so often missing from there. Wonderful balance. Entering its drinking window. The French oak, so often missing in Aussie Shiraz, contributes enormously to its elegance and balance.
In general I avoid McLaren Vale but the likes of Ben Riggs give me hope for the region.

December 14, 2021 - Beautiful expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Ben Riggs you’ve done it again!
Glorious rich dark fruit, lovely full throttle texture, just a hint of acidity, tannins completely integrated but present, great long finish!
So pleased we have more and some back vintages. -

June 1, 2020 - Should be in its prime but not quite as good as I expected.
Lovely texture and mouthfeel but not quite the depth of fruit I’d hoped for from a super vintage.
Popped and poured tonight maybe next time I’ll decant for an hour first ....time will tell!
