May 19, 2012 - Tasted non blind at a wine dinner. Did not take detailed notes but remember mentally comparing it to the Henry's 2005 and thinking that it had a bit more unintegrated oak and was not nearly as intense on the nose or palate. It was poured at a tasting with 20+ people and would have loved to have followed it for a few hours instead of a quick taste. It had a handful of what looked like grape skins in the bottom. According to Jim, they didn't use a screen in the bottling process pre 2005 and was likely skins. Don't know if the skins affected the bottle or not but will open my last one next year and report.

May 19, 2012 - CT Offline IV--Hill Country Edition; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin / Texas Hill Country / Castleman Ranch): Sweet, yet smooth, lovely and a really great wine. Good spice at the end of the palate after tasting blackberry, raspberry, and blueberry throughout. Really wonderful wine!

May 19, 2012 - CT Texas IV - A Hill Country Treat; 5/18/2012-5/19/2012 (Austin, Texas): An interesting contrast to the Estate Cuvee. Appears younger in both color and on the nose with aromas of black cherry, rhubarb, forest floor, spice, and cranberry. On the palate, tart yet sweet with pie cherry, black cherry, cranberry, spice, and mushroom, and prevalent oak. Finishes long. I would actually give this 2-3 more years to integrate the remaining oak.

October 23, 2009 - Stunning right now. Light red and cloudy looking. Incredible nose; forest floor, anise, spice, with red and dark fruits. Incredibly balanced with a great feel and finish.

August 2, 2006 - Had with Grilled Salmon last night. Absolutely incredible. Light red color, looks like a nicely aged wine without the orange hints. Great fruit, spice, and anise. Very balanced and elegant wine with a lush finish. Yum.
