September 9, 2014 - The wine is clear and bright with a medium garnet colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of coconut, vanilla, strawberries, plums, mushrooms and toffee. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(-) acidity. It has medium(+) supple tannins and a high alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and pronounced intensity flavours of coconut, vanilla, strawberries, plums, mushrooms and toffee. The finish is long.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and a nice flavouy concentration well-balanced by the tannins. It also shows some complexity provided by oak ageing and tertiary aromas like mushrooms and toffe. However this is a rather modern style, and whilst it shows clearly it is a Tempranillo-based wine it is not so clear wether it is a Rioja or a Ribera del Duero when tasted blind (as has been the case, my first thought were on Rioja but I ended up saying it was a Ribera because of the medium- acidity and supple tannins so typical of international styles). Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop some more tertiary aromas over the next 2-3 years.
