July 26, 2023 - Wish i had more, this was my last bottle and I think it is still getting better

May 15, 2021 - PnP. Showed much better after 90 minutes of air; continued to open beyond that, too. Textbook Chianti Classico in an old-world style. Med>Med+ body, classic aromas of soil/place, new-ish leather, a bit of scrub and mixed floral notes. This is inside its preferred window now, showing a mixture that, slightly, favors secondary vs some early tertiary. Drink now or the next 7-10 years, depending on your style preference. 13,5% abv., natural cork. recommended

December 23, 2020 - Very good. Wow! I say wow, even if that moment introduced itself at the 100 minute mark. On PnP, this was undeniably Chianti Classico, but to be clear, no fireworks to be seen; its power is in its purity. Fast forward to the final 1/3 of the bottle, at ~ 2 hours open, and bam!, the nose down-shifted and the tires chirped as this sailed into gear. It's medium-bodied, in the most classic sense, and yet there's this fullness just after the initial entry that nearly doubles the size of the wine. And I see why, as this was paired with food, the secret buried inside the wine revealed itself, and there was nothing medium about that experience. The aromas in the final glass include, but are not limited to: Tuscan dust, Zinger tea, ripe, almost resinous red fruits, mace, a whisper of red licorice, followed rather closely by some black licorice, too, soil, blond tobacco, some raspberry, ripe strawberry, menthol, and even the most fleeting notion of vanilla bean, etc. This was a personal experience that bordered on the finest that all the region and grape has to offer. Perhaps you're lucky enough to have one of these, and if so, I strongly advise you to give it 90 minutes of air in decanter, and proceed slowly - this is, or can be, if treated properly, a somewhat magical experience. Nothing worked about this. In fact, it's just the opposite: a pure, traditional and very transparent reflection of the grape/place/vintage. Tolkien would understand. Namaste. Has another 5-7 years of delightful, elegant drinking. 13,5% abv., natural cork (barely stained) that was bottled 1/2014. highly recommended

April 3, 2019 - Give this an hour or two of air and enjoy the deliciousness.
I wish I had another 3 of these.
