May 16, 2023 - Really excellent wine; not sure how CT scores this as a 93. It seems like CT scoring range is 89 for a passable wine and 93 for an excellent wine. I found this to e silky smooth with excellent depth and complexity. it’s showing primary, secondary and tertiary notes across the palate in equally weighted and fully integrated nuances.

May 5, 2023 - The wine blew away my expectations. Really powerful but feminine wine. Powerful purple fruit that’s liquid velvet in just enough acidity. All the yummy secondary cooperage and terroir artifacts are there. Loads of tobacco, wet leather and graphite. Finish lingers and the fruit itself stays fresh on the body for a delayed finish. Delicious!

June 15, 2021 - Decanted 2 hrs prior to consumption. Once this wine opened up, it was very pleasant with a rich, smoothe mouthfeel not typical of most 2011s. The tannins still slightly remained but were will integrated. It paired nicely with filet mignon. Drink em if you got em over the next yr.

May 15, 2021 - This is a fantastic wine - my 3rd bottle of the 2011 and it is just as good as the first one I had about a year ago. Opened it about 30 minutes prior to serving. Did not decant. Poured into my glass gave it a couple of swirls and was greeted with a very big bouquet of dark fruit, lavender, and hints of dark chocolate. The palate again is full bodied, rich, opulent, not overly extracted - but just powerful and muscular. Tannins are very well integrated. Finish is long.

We paired this with home made hamburgers and it was such a treat. This is one of the better 2011s out there.

July 31, 2020 - I last had this wine about 2 months ago and remember being blown away at how good this 2011 was. Not so much this time - while still very good, it did not have the life or vibrancy of the other bottle. The tannins are still very much there, good depth, structure, extracted fruit - but the last bottle just brought it to another level. Maybe it was just this bottle that was off? Looking forward to how the other bottles will do.
