  April 15, 2023 - Deep ruby in colour, intense blackcurrants and plum with menthol and vanilla/blackberry compote. A little earth and leather as tertiary flavours.
  
  Wonderful power with smooth tannins and so much more life in this. Drinking beautifully but think we could get some more pronounced tertiary flavours in another 5-10 years.
  
  Some lunatic sold this to me on BBX for £40 a bottle and I’m so glad they did!

  May 20, 2018 - Appearance: Dark Purple Heart, Watery edge, Solid Pink rim.
  Nose: Blackberries, Plumb, Thick Jam, Oak, Pepper, forest floor
  Taste: Mid tongue Frank, Soft exit, soft Palette
  Notes: Drinks well now or age for another 3 years.

  Ytterligare ett bra SA vin som kommer att bara bli bättre och bättre med tid. Vilafonté series C har bra syra, tydliga tanniner och syrlig mörk frukt, så det finns alla komponenter för att det skall kunna bli ett riktigt bra vin. Jag tog och dubbeldekanterade denna flaska då jag tyckte att syran fortfarande var lite för påtaglig efter vinet stått i karaff i cirka 2,5 timmar. Med dubbeldekantering och ytterligare 1,5 timmar i karaff, så mjuknar syran upp och fram kommer ett elegant vin som domineras av trevlig svarta vinbärsfrukt. Helt klart ett vin jag skulle kunna tänka mig att dricka igen och helst skulle vinet då ha lagrats i 3-5 år till.

  May 25, 2014 - South African Wine + Surf Trip; 5/17/2014-6/1/2014 (Western Cape, South Africa): Deep ruby colored. Such complex aromas: currants and dried blueberries infused with cola, charcoal smoke, loam, sweet herbs. Clearly this needs time to show its full aromatic display. Great structure, serious concentration, the tannins have a bit more grit than the Series M, but there’s still a wonderful velvety approach. Bold currant, fig paste and blackberries mix with notes of tobacco, soil, loam, anise, forest floor and granite. Dense but it opens up. Burly but elegant, if that’s possible. Aged 22 months in 80% new French oak and 12 months in bottle before release. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 14% Malbec and 9% Cabernet Franc. Needs four or five years at least, but will hold for a decade+ without problem. 93+
