Community Tasting Notes 4

May 28, 2015 - Started with a nose of slightly bitter cococa nibs, then eucalyptus, and then fresh herbs. Very complex and continued to develop on both the nose and the palate. Very well balance with ripe red fruits, tannins, and acid. It will be interesting to see how this wine changes in 5, 10, or 20 years, but was already one of the stars of the evening's tasting.

May 23, 2014 - Fig nose. Palate of fig, anise, tar, with a slight nuttiness and cooking spice. Good depth but a bit of bitterness peaking out at the back end diminishes the finish a bit. Great for dried fruit/nuts (particularly more darker fruits or a desert cheese board perhaps for those of the more savory persuasion), which would certainly hid the bitterness. Certainly has some good stuffing, just a bit uneven.
