Community Tasting Notes 7

May 9, 2016 - this has always been one of my favorite Spanish whites, crisp but with more depth and roundness than Albarino and fresher and fruitier than Viura. Rafael Palacios shows that great winemaking runs in the family! Outstanding.

July 9, 2015 - Over the past 6-9 months, this has really started to put on weight in the bottle. Developing real richness and depth, and adding to what was quite a subtle, crisp and mineral palate. Now becoming more honeyed, notes of ripe melon, as well as rich clay undertones. Delicious.

    March 11, 2015 - Petillence - otherwise kinda tasty.

February 7, 2015 - The wine is clear and bright with a pale lemon colour.

The nose is clean and youthful, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of flowers (orange blossom, honeysuckle), green fruit (green apple), citrus (orange peel, lemon peel) and yeast (generic yeast).

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(+) refreshing acidity. It has a medium(+) alcohol and a medium(+) body. It has pronounced intensity flavours of flowers (orange blossom, honeysuckle), green fruit (green apple), citrus (orange peel, lemon peel) and yeast (generic yeast). The finish is medium(+).

It is a very good quality wine. It has a persistent finish and very concentrated flavours that balance the acidity and the alcohol. However it could be even more complex.

Can drink now, but it has enough acidity and fruit concentration to develop a bit more of complexity in the next 1-2 years.

January 18, 2015 - A perfume of stone fruits, white flowers, garrigue, thyme and lemongrass. Has a distinct minerality and bright acidity which suggests a cooler climate than in 2012 (where the Louro was more buttery and honeyed). A lovely complexity and very well made.
