December 15, 2017 - Nice nose, ok palate, but I think this is on it's way down based on what we've had before. Glad we are drinking now.

November 14, 2017 - My birthday wine.. Great deep ruby color with distinctive variations on the tongue. Ripe cherries and hints of licorice on nose and taste. Smooth light tannins with a great finish.

May 26, 2016 - #VAWineChat - Granite Heights: Medium ruby color. Smoky nose with dark berry compote, leather and musk. Quite nicely structured with bright acidity and dusty tannins, the concentration and youthfulness of this wine is surprising and impressive. Plummy, tart berries, crunchy red fruits and luscious black cherry, there are a lot of different fruit elements going on here. I get some tobacco, pepper, vanilla and earthy notes, too. A bit young and tight but stays vibrant, this has plenty of time in the cellar to go. 41% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Franc, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petit Verdot and 9% Barbera, aged 20 months in French and American oak.

May 25, 2014 - Nose: cherry, chocolate, oak, baking spices, mint
Palate: very nice mouth feel with cherry showing through primarily. Intense, long finish, high acidity, notes of baking spice and black pepper lingering with medium tannins. May have been a tad early on this vintage, but will hold up for a good while.
