Community Tasting Notes 1

  • wicozani Does not like this wine: 80 points

December 8, 2015 - Opened one hour before pairing with grilled flank steak. A medium ruby in the glass with slow-forming legs, the very reticent nose featured blackberry and little else. The palate was correspondingly very simple, with blackberry, black currant and a touch of earthiness, coupled with low acid and nothing particularly noteworthy. No tannins to speak of, this wine had an overall "low energy" about it, with middling intensity and concentration. Quite a letdown for a cellar door we generally admire and have had quite a bottles.
