October 22, 2021 - A lot of dirty barnyard when opening. Probably brett? Or is it related to the low sulphur production? Fortunately, an hour in the carafe helps a lot. And from here it just gets better and better. The wine has an incredibly complex aroma. Cool fruit, mainly on the dark side, with crackling and juniper, but there is also some red fruit here in the direction of cranberries. Lots of classic syrah markers like hung meat, leather and stall, black olives, pine needles and camphor. Also a fairly distinct scent of granite. In addition, a floral touch in the direction of lilies that comes and goes.

Medium plus concentration, cool fresh fruit, juicy, a drying tannin bite despite its 9 years, high acidity, very long and pleasant finish. It just lasts and lasts.

A fresh and seductive wine, at the same time as there is a wonderful rawness here. The freshness lies in the light and juicy mouthfeel, while the aromas and finish represent the rawness.

Both fruit, tannins and acidity indicate that there should be no hurry here. But what about the overwhelming barnyard that never really let go? Will this fault be reinforced or fade away with more storage? I'm not sure.

There is a lot of quality here. And singularity. Lots of drinking pleasure. But the barnyard notes prevent the wine from reaching its full potential. I say 90 points, but this both could and should have been more.

September 22, 2020 - Amazing wine with fabulous complexity and deliciously expressive nose of blue and black berries, pepper, gauze and raw meat. Fresh and chewy , very immediate and present on the palate, with nicely slim fruit, good length and noticeable but soft tannins. A wine straight from nature. Could perhaps even merit a 94p score.

December 24, 2018 - Our wine for Christmas Eve. Somewhat astringent on opening, evolved nicely through the evening, showing wood spices, rosehips, very fresh and immediate fruit quality and fine length. The remains of the bottle after the meal went into the fridge and the next day was even better. I didn't expect it to be even drinkable, but it had in fact that "wow"-factor. Delicious. Could probaby evolve for a few more years.

January 17, 2018 - At Bibiji from Rajat Parr's personal cellar. Needed a bit of time to open up and blow off some early aromas but 15mins in, this wine was singing. Not a textbook CR, slightly more silky and elegant but it paired superbly with the Indian Food at hand. Very little acidity and all dried red fruit. QPR and pairing at its best!

November 28, 2017 - Brief note. Quite an exotic nose, with lots of herbs, smoked meat, and pepper to complement the strawberry and raspberry. Good freshness on the finish. Likely a short-term wine, but provides good pleasure right now.
