August 27, 2023 - Second bottle from a full case purchased from the Dutch importer in 2015. When I discussed the drinking window for this wine in July 2017 with Jean-Louis Chave, he said: wait. In November 2020 it was just entering its plateau of maturity, and now, almost three years later, it continues to develop well - albeit slowly. Initially not decanted, opened two hours in advance. The nose is open and aromatic, cool and minerally, fresh and floral, with bright red fruit and lovely meaty, spicy evolution, barely visible oak; the palate is still youthful and fresh, it has good volume (14% ABV) but it is not particularly powerful or dense, it is elegant and flowing, almost Burgundian, with a satiny texture and largely resolved sandy tannins; the peppery finish is still a bit tight, length is very good. A two hour decant softens and fills out the palate and finish very nicely, and seems to harmonise and refresh the aromas. This should have the balance and energy for a good career, and it will be very interesting to follow over the next 10-15 years.

April 7, 2023 - Bright yet earthy, very smooth and light on its feet but lovely fruit depth and lingering finish.Seems to be coming into its own at this point. Recorked the unfinished bottle and tried it again two weeks later… Still very attractive! 90-91

May 17, 2022 - Blåbær, krekling og gasbind på duft Veldig myk frukt med polerte tanninger. Virker å være på topp nå

December 16, 2021 - As previous note mentioned this was still quite young and lots of time to go. It was not particularly expressive, but could just be a quieter phase for the wine at this time.

December 5, 2021 - Syrah on the nose the first night
    Not particularly long finish
    But years of life left
