Community Tasting Notes 4

May 8, 2012 - Really liked this straight out of the bottle. Nose of forest and burnt woods, wood spice, chocolate, cigar box and some burnt orange zest. Tasted more like an '04 than '03. Quite serious with good intensity, weight and mouthfeel . Finish had hints of grass and hay.

    The wine looks Garnet colored.
It smells like Mineral, Stoniness, Light toast, and Strawberry.

    The body is Medium.
    The wine is textured Smooth.
    The wine finishes Medium.

August 3, 2007 - Effusive and elegant on the nose with red fruits, forest floor, dust, mushrooms. A bit thinner on the palate and a shortish finish. Well balanced but not terribly concentrated. All around a nice glass of wine but not a great deal at $30+

December 12, 2006 - Velvety and balanced red fruit and earth. Some floral notes in the last glass. No hard edges. Well integrated and drinking beautifully right now. Quite the QPR for Cote Nuits Burgundy.
