Community Tasting Notes 7

Möjligen något enkelt i munnen

March 18, 2016 - Almost black, inky color. Intense coffee, vanilla, blackberry and some leather aroma. It has many factors those are two-edged. Solid, bone dry tannin makes it powerful but I think it had over-extracted. Too thick and rough body for its narrow structure and short finish. Alc. 14.5%

June 19, 2015 - Very ordinary. Short finish and lacking balance.

April 25, 2015 - Ended up in a tasting with mostly traditional, elegant and slim wines. This and the 2003 vintage (that we had at the same tasting) felt a bit fat fingered and heavy.

Day two, and I can enjoy this a lot more.

Big, voluptuous nose with fairly good depth. Ripe fruit, plums, dark cherries and blackcurrants. Lots of Spanish/American oak with vanilla, dill, butter, chocolate and roasted coffee.

Medium acidity, dry but with generous, slightly flabby fruit. Good structure though and a medium+ intensity and finish. Lots of vanilla and butter on the palate. Good balance and there is not any disturbing alcohol, even though the finish is slightly warm.

This is very modern and approachable, but with good intensity and length. Will keep my 2 bottles for 7-10 years.
