September 15, 2022 - Luis rides again (without falling off!) (Tilia): This wine was paired with a 2011 Montelena and 2015 Leeuwin. All three wines were very different, but all equally enjoyable in their own way! This wine will likely not improve, but it is in a nice place now for my palate. The fruit is well rounded and very much present, there are some secondary flavors and the finish still shows off some toasted oak in the form of butterscotch, vanilla and spice. The nose shows honeycomb with some lemon peel, some white flower and some chalk and spice. The palate shows plenty of poached pear, Meyers Lemon and some some limestone with hints of melon and apple. The finish is medium with spice, butterscotch and vanilla notes that linger. I enjoy this style! A solid 92 for me.

September 15, 2022 - Luis actualy DOES show up for his own tasting (Tilia): Drank a small glass over 45 minutes. Butterscotch, sherry flavors, with time in the glass, this seems past peak or on the way to being oxidized.

September 15, 2022 - Luis Returns! (Tilia, Mpls): Medium gold color. Drank a glass over 90 minutes. More mature now, this show lemon oil, toasted nuts, toffee, stone and spice. The palate is full bodied, lemon, lemon oil texture, spices, toffee, stone, richer with a butter brickle note, long with a touch of lacquer on the finish. Still very good, but now mature and not as bright as in the past. I would drink these sooner than later.

June 9, 2021 - I'm torn. Just opened this after enjoying a younger chard from another winery. Yes the 2012 DuMol is good, but I'm going back to my live conversation with Kerry over the phone years ago. 'These chard's are meant to be drank, not held' he told me. I was pitching holding the chards for a bit. For sure, holding a chard for 9 years limits its ideal drinking situations. Like I just said, I was the just enjoying a younger chard tonight and I liked it's acidity and brightness. The 2012 is such a shift and, at the moment, I'm wishing I drank this when it was younger.
I have quite a bit of DuMol and I've been pulling them to enjoy with friends so I can follow Kerry's advice. Cheers Kerry and team-
