October 27, 2019 - This is a wonderful example of what happens to a Faugeres when you let it sit in the cellar for just a while. The tannins are wonderfully integrated without muting any of the fruit. This wine remains fruit forward, with an infusion of vanilla, spice, and leather. This is definitely not a wine for drinking around the pool on a warm July day. But here we are almost in November and it's perfect. Full-bodied and dry with a spiciness that lingers. Buy it if you have the chance, but don't waste it on a vegetarian, says my vegetarian friend.
