  March 12, 2016 - A slightly disappointing experience. We tasted this wine at the cellar door and thought it was very nice, but tonight it tastes quite mediocre. I’m a big fan of Hunter Valley shiraz, but this one just does not make the grade. Maybe I’ve just had too much good wine recently.
  
  There is plenty of ripe blackberry and mulberry on the front palate, with a hint of white pepper, woodsmoke and tar adding some complexity. But I find the wine lacking structure and the balance is off. I’m not sure if Shiraz suffers from a “dumb” phase, but I’m hoping more time improves the experience. Certainly not worth the $50 paid for it.

  September 13, 2014 - Wine-Ark boys on tour - Hunter Valley 2014 - Day 2 (Hunter Valley): black berry and cherry, slight chocolate notes, slight green peppercorns, cream. Very peppery and spicy but with a juicy core. Slight black fruit notes are subjugated by the spice and tannins are quite tight but not very weighty. The fruit persists quite long. nice. needs time.
