Community Tasting Notes 6

February 10, 2023 - Past peak, or perhaps not the best stored bottle.

June 17, 2020 - Rich, supple mouthfeel, but not jammy. Black fruit up front, with a bit of tartness, then in fairly quick succession, Pinot funk, earthiness, oak. This is a complex wine and very enjoyable. Will have to wait for the next bottle to see how it develops with an hour or two of air time.

12/2/2020 Similar notes as last time. Since I opened it a couple of hours before dinner and didn't observe much difference I'd have to say this is one you can pop and pour and not sacrifice anything.

February 3, 2018 - Saved this one to share with friends. Nobody was disappointed. Great year from a great wine.

December 23, 2016 - Black raspberry, black cherry, earth and vanilla notes on the nose. Close to full bodied (14.8% ABV) with a great deal of lushness to its blackfruit profile. Black raspberry upfront along with black cherry and lots of plum and additional deep blackfruit behind. Good acidity based tartness towards the back serves as contrast. After several hours open, the wine does start to lose some of that more pronounced fruit-forwardness and display more complexity and nuance through the middle. Finish is nicely balanced between tart blackfruit, mineral notes and vanilla tinged tannins. This is just a really young wine. In another 2-3 years, I suspect it will have evolved quite impressively and will then show the complexity and depth that's currently hidden by the more prominent fruit qualities.

December 11, 2015 - Wow! This is showing so much charm and complexity at the moment- ample stone fruit and red berry notes with a fragrant earthiness and sweet spices. It's lithe and easy but the finish is long and focused.
