August 27, 2016 - Very well made Chardonnay

Golden yellow. Clearly some age development both in appearance and palate. Well balanced on all counts, with the acid enhancing the fruit, oak just talking quietly in the background but adding to the complexity which comes alive as it warms in the glass. Will be saving a few of these for anther 5-10 years, I think they might still have evolving to do

BTW, the picture showing is not the wine I tasted, it was just Eagles rest Chardonnay, no mention of ' flat block'

October 19, 2015 - A new winery for me, as well as a new wine experience - drinking 7yo Hunter Chardonnay. It's still got some life this wine - the colour is a nice bright straw gold, the nose a combination of citrus, white stone fruit and smoky oak. Soft and round in the mouth initially, but then these is a combination of citrus and grapefruit driving through to a decent finish, with some lees creaminess and spicy oak. Surprisingly enjoyable.
