June 13, 2020 - Still very ruby in colour.
N: a bit muted. Deep ripe blackcurrants, slightly jammy, clear coconut-like oak notes.
P: full bodied, big big wine. Notes as above. Touch of more dried fruit character but obvious on nose. A little musty. Spices. Long finish though.
Maybe needs to open up. Slightly awkward but fruit is still deep and defined, can last, but lacks the exuberant joy I remember from an earlier bottle.
Update: opened up over time to show more spice and tobacco notes. Deep and delicious. Really needed a steak. -

October 3, 2017 - Unctuous feel nice upfront fruit without being sweet and a nice peppery spice end with good length on the finish. Yes there is clearly new oak involved, a factor not uncommon with top end Argentinian reds, but I did not think that it was too dominant. A wine that should evolve nicely over the next five years or possibly more.

December 31, 2014 - Trip to Buenos Aires and Mendoza; 12/22/2014-1/3/2015 (Buenos Aires and Mendoza): Excellent on both nose and palate, but be aware this is extremely oaky.....but this is good wine in spite of the new wood... I think I prefer the Tomero Gran Reserva

September 28, 2014 - The wine had a nice bouquet and first taste showed dark berries with a smooth finish. For the price this is an excellent Malbec-Cab blend.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry.
The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.
