June 23, 2022 - From magnum. Deep color, fading at the edge. The nose shows aromas of charred oak, dark raspberry, flowers and a hint of pepper. This is medium full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and good class. The fairly long finish features dried fruit notes and plenty of oak tannins.

April 25, 2021 - The nose here does show many of the classic syrah characteristics, with its meat and smoke and brine. Somewhat darker complexioned with its black fruit, baking spice, and slight leathery qualities, this doesn't have quite the same purity of fruit that low/no-oak bottlings of Northern Rhône syrah have, and although the overt oaky elements must have faded out over the last 25 years, there is still a patina that renders the fruit in less than crystalline clarity. The finish is fervently tannic but with enough air this does become more approachable. What's really impressive here is the overall intensity of this wine, and especially its fruit which is still amply apparent despite that sheen of oak. This reminds me a bit of a Guigal La-La.

July 23, 2020 - DM Thursday Night Zoom Tasting: Tasted blind next to the 1995 Barge Côte-Rôtie Côte Brune and 1995 Jamet Côte-Rôtie. Lovely lifted floral nose of sweet black fruit and a blast of olive tapenade. A touch heavier on the palate with plenty of spice along side. Salty meats, a touch of wood, and rich dark berries. A touch rustic on the palate and even somewhat youthful yet drank so well this evening. Well integrated, classic Côte-Rôtie. I really enjoyed this

March 9, 2019 - My last bottle. Double decanted. Still has the appearance of a young wine. Dark garnet, with no signs of any browning. The deep fruit is fading a bit, structure is excellent, though acidity showing a bit on the back end, but this is not showing the complexity I had hoped for. While it was very nice, a previous bottle a few years ago was phenomenal.

May 20, 2018 - Unfortunately this wine seems to have higher than average rates of TCA. But when on it really sings. Made by Michel OGIER. The fruit has dropped out now or just this bottle. The texture and finish is what speaks so well to CR and straddling new and old styles. It was oaky in youth but long gone.
