January 29, 2020 - Nice btl - nose is fresh and very nice - better then pallete - still good and very enjoyable but lacking the power for length

January 18, 2020 - Bottom line: wish I had more of this and in this condition. This bottle was spot on. It was at times rude and overbearing and at others irresistible in a charismatic way and even suave. Large scale, full-bodied but not heavy, though initially quite dry with vibrant acids, I'd say a flourish aptly describes the mouthfeel. Very dark flavors including some coffee. Oak largely integrated and complimentary in both bouquet and flavor. Good sweetness. Mild to moderate green peppers in the bouquet. I think the acids and tannic lift are just right.

December 12, 2019 - From magnum. There’s a lot to like about this wine — a nice smokiness, secondary aromas, cigar box, some Blackcurrant, leather. Good acidity too. I would have rated 91-92 but for a thickness / fuzziness that is a bit off putting. Seems not entirely clean / pure / transparent. May be bottle variation.

(Chateau Sociando-Mallet Médoc) A lovely, aromatic nose here, showing some fine, iron-tinged fruit. This is evolving wonderfully. A delicious palate, showing a lovely texture and plenty of clean, sweet black fruit. Underneath there is a ripe structure, fresh acids too. This is not particularly rich, rather it is pretty and balanced, with appropriate substance behind it. An excellent effort for the vintage. Very good indeed.
