  November 14, 2023 - At 20 years of age, this 2003 vintage is far from being old or mature. Slowly but surely entering adulthood for the next 30++ years. Fantastic and youthful with lively tannins and acids dancing the tango on your tongue. Super long finish, filling your mouth for minutes - lovely.
  A must-have for any Left-Bank fanatic. This one makes it for sure on my cellar-bucket list.

  October 20, 2023 - The 2003 Cos D'Estournel was drinking beautifully tonight but will easily go at least 10 more years. Still deep color in the bowl. Concentrated black fruits in the nose, blackberries and black raspberries with some earthiness and a slight hint of floral. Rich fruit in the flavor, black cherries, black currants, plums and chocolate. An elegant Bordeaux, medium to full bodied, very well balanced, complex and a long lingering smooth finish. The 2003 Cos D'Estournel was absolutely delicious!

  October 13, 2023 - 2003 really plays into the richer direction of Cos. It provided the elements to make a big wine. They pulled it off without ever being heavy or over extracted. The wine still reads very dark in the glass, with blue hughs of deep earthy fruit, in a rich blend of plums and black macerated cherries bathing in cozy wood spice. WIth all that richness comes the risk of where do we go from here....And to me, and based on the skip beat wedged in the 2/3 mark of each sip, I say this is just fine to drink now with not a whole lot of upside. A very cozy wine but not so Cos'y....Drink

  October 9, 2023 - Cracked this one open for dinner for two with a beef stew my wife made which was incredible. There’s a reason this wine is considered one of the best there is: from the first wiff, a strong, extremely rich combination of fruit, dirt, herbs, makes you go OMG! Then on taste, it just blows you away with all that, currant, chocolate, Sonny Rollins, and more. Decanted for an hour but it just kept getting better, getting smoother, richer. You can tell this could easily age for another 10 years and be a boss!

  October 2, 2023 - Dark ruby-purple, sweet, pure, floral scents; mixed red berries and candied currants; superlatively fragrant and inviting. Round, spicy, red plum and currant soufflé flavor. Finishes a touch alcoholic initially but dissipates with an hour's aeration. Remarkably youthful and fresh, a long road ahead yet remains.
