April 2, 2016 - Magnum bought recently from the winery.
Quite dark but with a tawny rim.
Rich, earthy, plummy, meat stock and iron filings, char oak, licorice. Intense perfume.
Fleshy, round palate, good acidity and medium tannins. Vibrant and youthful zest with a very rich flavour profile. Dark plums and blackcurrant, tar, dark spice, cedar and pencil lead. A lot of secondary complexity, possibly a little excessive. -

January 19, 2008 - Briary, ash, graphite and chocolate. Medium bodied, with medium length but some alcohol sticks out and disrupts the line of the wine.

Very pure black fruits on the nose: mainly blackcurrants, but some blackberry too, plus a touch of mint and a touch of VA. A bit sweet on the palate. Some decent depth. A bit hot on the finish and it has a certain hollowness. Not especially pleasing. OK/Good.
