  Stately, magnificent, with beautiful balance and length. Like an old friend you can always depend on. Tickles the tongue just enough. I guess you could say it wasn't vineyard specific, but with such good architecture, who cares?
  
  This took a few minutes to open. Kept in the fridge under N2 for a long time, like two weeks. No sign of decline.

  January 21, 2022 - Shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week and surviving another week of SIP (sip in place/stay in place) due to COVID-19. i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. i did not want to miss the ideal drinking window of such a prestigious wine. last tasted on 2/27/2021. no formal notes but impressions today are the same as a year ago. the wine proved to be in sound condition. unusually light color for a wine with such a robust flavor profile. quintessential cali chard with unique hints of apple in addition to the usual lemon/citrus. ample oak which is well integrated. remarkable showing for a wine with ten years of bottle age. expensive but worth every penny. will look for more recent vintages.

  August 21, 2019 - Similar to the bottle I had over the 4th of July weekend with the exception of the palate was more apple than pear. The melon and oak were still there and it was very enjoyable.

  July 4, 2019 - Still a nice chardonnay. We brought a bottle to the club for the 4th of July festivities. Pear and melon on the palate along with a little oak. Most enjoyable.
