December 22, 2018 - a total jam and juice bomb - not as much smoke and oak as I might've expected from Behrens. Beautiful color, dark dark inky. Very well balanced, hints of pepper, but overall just plain deliciously juicy. We had it with steak and 4 cheese shells...the juicy richness cut through the fat and paired well with the cheese and pepper on the steak; however I could see savoring this wine without any food at all.
totally different than most of the cabs and cab blends from this producer. Yum -

January 30, 2018 - Decanted and consumed over the next few hours. An incredible wine from what some have called a difficult year. However, I feel there are very good wines from every vintage and this is an example. Rich, dark and so easy to drink. Enjoy this one without the corruption of food. 92+
