  July 3, 2006 - This is the lightest Cali PN I've drank in 2006. It's lighter than most French Beaujolais, albeit maybe a bit thin. This is nice given the current New World trend toward the more highly concentrated PN fruit. A great summer wine and one to serve chilled with light food fare in hot weather. I see the wine as a super concentrated rose, but clearly with PN cherry flavors. 13.5% alcohol, a bit heavy for such a light wine. Why not cut short the fermentation and leave a bit more residual suger? The only negative (to my palette) is a particular mild tartness. The next day, the wine's mild oaked flavor was discernable. This wine is simply fun and unassuming. I'll probably pick up a case ($120) to serve to my neighbors who are unfamiliar with Pinot Noir. Muirwood is produced by ASV wines, an agribusiness enterprise business (?). See http://www.asvwines.com. I guess this means I can buy this wine by the tanker truck! :-) What's the price?
