March 5, 2016 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. we have had a mild winter, at least in terms of snow fall, and the beginnings of an early spring. however, there is a chill in the air tonite so the idea of port came to mind while sitting by the fire. just the two of us so the 1/2 bottle was just right. this was purchased from the winery after tasting at gswga festival held at rutgers gardens. perhaps not the best port style wine coming from new jersey, but quite enjoyable none the less. i failed to ask what grape was used. will research this before drinking the next bottle. nice viscosity. style is true to form. fruit is dry. seems to have seen a lot of sun. 18.5% alcohol. will try to hold onto remaining bottle until we have another blizzard.
