December 17, 2021 - Damn solid wine. Plenty of mature, dark fruit with some tertiary flavors peeking through. Medium-full body with tannin towards the end. Medium finish. For the money, this is a steal. I'd pair this with something grilled and hearty.

January 8, 2021 - Sweet berries and prune mix with a rustic structure that brings some forceful tannins and acid. Further meaty notes of umami, melted licorice and spice box. There’s a bit of a weird cooked tomato on the finish but otherwise a very enjoyable wine that tastes like Rioja, even if a bit rough around the edges. Great qpr. One of the few 100% Graciano I wines I’ve seen. From Rioja Alta and spent a quick 3 months in old French oak barrels. Drink over the next few years with something hearty.

December 16, 2020 - I don’t recall ever having a pure Graciano, it’s normally used as a blending grape. In the glass it is a pale shade of purple and is fully opaque. On the nose I get charred plums, black berries and a stewed fruit note. The palate is interesting with brooding dark fruits, oak and a vanilla bean note. The tannic structure is very well ingrained in this 9 year old bottle. They are present but not foreboding. The black fruits show up on the mid palate with a touch of bitterness, there is a green note too. On the finish is where I get some nice acidity to go with the oaky fruit compote. There is a nice dryness on the back end from the tannins. The wine is a pleasure to drink but that midpalate greeness has me concerned. This will drink well till 2025 and pair nicely with pasta, roasted chicken and certainly grilled steak. I’m going 89 points and 3 stars for the $12 price point.

August 17, 2020 - Brilliant purple with no bricking. Complex and evolving nose, driven by mulberry, floral, and tar qualities (early) and changing into dried fig, cured tobacco, jerky, and potpourri with 20 minutes of swirling. Exhibits excellent 'roundness' at this age, but still has significant fruit to go with delicious secondary and tertiary flavors, floral qualities, and medium plus tannic backbone.

My first time drinking Graciano, and was most impressed. The other reviewer describes the flavors well, but my bottle was not subtle in any way. A full-bodied, fruit-forward wine with excellent balance and nuance.
