April 12, 2015 - Til lammeskank. Ekstrem mørk lilla farge, nesten svart. Lukt av søtlig mørke bær (solbær) med litt krydder. Smaken er fyldig av mørke bær. En del krydder. Litt lakris. Søtlig avslutning som går over i syrlighet. Relativ lang ettersmak. Litt garvestoffer. Best til mat, en god match til lammeskank. Litt for kraftig til å drikke alene.

March 12, 2015 - Consistent with previous note. A decent wine, but not much more.

Plenty of roasted oak on the nose, coffee, dark fruit, blackcurrants, cherries, meat and a light tough of pepper.

Medium acidity, dry, light bitterness, some tannins but fairly round, medium body and an OK intensity and length.

A well made wine, and OK for 99kr. There is a lot more interesting stuff to be found out there though for the same $$.

February 16, 2015 - Meaty, smoky with red cherries and dark berry fruit, herbs and spices on the nose. Again spicy on the palate, some tennis, good acidity and length. Well balanced, but lacking a bit of excitement and drive. 87-88

February 13, 2015 - Some traces of Syrah on the nose with a little black pepper, some smoke, rubber, a little funk, some cherries and blackcurrants and a little green. There is also some roasted oak, coffee and a little toast.
Medium acidity, medium bodied, quite fruity. Light tannins, OK intensity and length. Nothing special, but a decent red wine.

September 4, 2014 - 50% of the wine is aged in new American oak barrels and 50% in used American and French oak.

Slightly translucent dark ruby color. Expressive and ripe yet still quite savory nose with aromas of toasty smoke, peppery spice, woody spice, brambly blackberry, some vanilla and a herbal hint of mint. The wine feels full-bodied, ripe and juicy on the palate with generous, yet rather savory flavors of peppery spice, fresh dark berries, some toasty oak spice, a little bit of blackberry marmalade and a hint of vanilla. There is nice freshness here, but the structure is a bit on the softer side with modest-to-medium acidity and rather light and well-manicured tannins that really don't contribute much either to the structure or to the texture. The finish is juicy, rich and long with pretty spicy flavors of black peppers, succulent plummy fruit, toasty oak, some vanilla, a little bit of brambly blackberry and a hint of exotic baking spices.

An easy, smooth and somewhat balanced Shiraz, although one a bit wanting in the structure department. The fruit is pretty nice here, more on the fresher and savory side than one that is too ripe and sweet, but the oak influence is a bit too much for pleasure here: it is at times rather overwhelming and also it seems to contribute to the general softness and roundness of the wine. I imagine with less oak influence this wine would've been more structured and savory. Although the previous vintage was somewhat soft as well, it came across as a bit more balanced and enjoyable. My feelings for this vintage are quite lukewarm.
