December 19, 2021 - This is a big wine: fruit, alcohol (14.7%ABV), oak tannin, you name it. Even arguably at least a hint of VA. Brian’s wines have never been overly subtle, nor has he ever wanted them to be. For me, this is a little bit Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde: somewhere between brilliance and insanity. I’m sure Brian is quite comfortable in this space.

    October 24, 2020 - Vintage 2010 Tasting; 10/24/2020-10/25/2020 (Bronte, Sydney): med dark
deep cherry fragrance, cherry stone zest, well integrated oak spice
darker cherry flavours, good acidity, candied fruits and oak spice complexity, quite zesty bright flavours, doesn't really come across as cool climate, quite fleshy and with good length.

December 31, 2019 - Medium garnet. Oily petroleum. Red fruit and greenery, wood. Interesting and complex.

December 26, 2018 - Deep garnet core, merest hint of bricking at the edge. 14.7% but not overly hot, more a rich mouthfeel. Touch of menthol, red berries, crunchy fruit and some secondary character coming through. Well balanced and drinking well now

July 11, 2015 - Dark bright cherry red colour. Cherry, vanilla, spice and herbs on the nose. Rich mouth filling cherry fruit (fruit sweet but not sugar) and long acid on the palate. Herbs also come through on the palate. Long soft tannins. Alcohol is high (14.7% according to the bottle) which gives a viscous mouth feel (but not hot). Drinks very now but will cellar well as it has a good balance of fruit, acid and tannin to stand up against the Al. I've become a fan of Tassie PNs. This is a v good wine, a masculine PN and not for the faint of heart.
