August 1, 2017 - Quite a brilliant wine. Funky and discordant nose on opening but a run through the Vinturi and 2 hours in the decanter fixed that. The nose is subdued. Red fruit and alcohol. But, in the mouth this wine is truly beautiful. Soft. Plums, rose, black tea and earth. Some tart pie cherry but not much. Lengthy and engaging finish that has some drying tannins but red cherry, a hint of tar or burnt toast. Fascinating. Truly impressive. I bought this in Pienza and had it shipped and I'm delighted to have it.
