June 21, 2023 - Good blend of red and dark fruits. Pure, concentrated and bright, not as lush or layered as expected from this vintage and winery.

May 17, 2023 - 92.5 concentrated fruit , beautiful wine. Bottom of the bottle had a bit of spoiled sediment but if you decant with a flashlight you get most of the bottle that is clean and delicious. This bottle will last for at least 5 years , too bad I have only 2 left .

February 6, 2023 - Drinking really nice. Soft and balanced. Great fruit with offsetting acidity. Medium weight. Could be at its peak. Drink soon.

June 29, 2022 - Just starting to see a little age around the edges of this dark maroon colored 2012 Pride Mountain Winery Vintners Select, Sonoma county Merlot . Initially I smelled some cedar and vanilla with crushed blueberry and raspberry. Mouth feel is full but not at all heavy. Again, Blueberry and raspberry flavors with good depth on the palate. Oak (40% new French) and tannins are fully integrated and the wine is balanced with refreshing acidity that complements the pleasantly rich fruit flavors. The finish is delightfully persistent.
Delicious bottle of pure Merlot ! Decanted but started drinking after 20 minutes. The wine really opened up after a few hours. Can go for another several years however, I do believe this is at or near its apex.

February 11, 2022 - I had this with my wine group alongside a 2013 Larkmead Firebelle, a 2012 Januik Champoux Cabernet Sauvignon, and a 2013 Soos Creek Champoux. For me this was the WOTN. It had a long finish, a beautiful nose, and the tanin/fruit balance was in a great place. For the record, my favorites in order, Pride, Januik, Soos Creek and the Larkmead.
