June 15, 2022 - Was just a little bit tight at the opening, but with 2 hours of slow ox, this wine really came around. Great Black fruit with a touch of red tossed in. Nothing earthshaking, but very enjoyable and amazing QPR. There is absolutely no rush to drink these, seeing the Comm Drink date shows 2021 (laughing) easily 5-10 more years for these in the drinking window!!

December 25, 2021 - Decanted and enjoyed with a chargrilled Ribeye, sautéed mushrooms and a salad. Seems to have shed much of the “baby fat”, which I associate with the 2012 vintage; although the structure is not “notable”, it seems to be lurking close to the surface. Black fruits are prevalent, but not much complexity at this juncture. Love the velvety mouthfeel, but at nine years, I expect to see more development. Drink through 2027.

November 5, 2020 - Nice but simple. Plenty of fruit but not much else. Nothing wrong with it. Just not ringing any bells.

March 1, 2019 - Great wine. Typical Napa Cab. Middle of the road and does not blow me away. Great color, decanted 2 hours. Intense sediment and nose of plumb and other fruits. Blackberry and anise on the tongue. Very drinkable but did not overwhelm. For this price, probably a good buy.

December 16, 2018 - Drank over five hours

Deep, rich, dark burgundy in color. Full bodied.

*Producer's notes (see my previous notes)

Aromatic profile of dark cherry, black currant, violets and cocoa powder. Savory notes join in on the luscious, full-bodied palate, bursting with layers of rich dark fruits and velvety tannins, all leading to a gorgeous, long finish.

This vintage is drinking perfectly right now. Tons of structure and what one would expect from an outstanding Cali-cab. Excellent!
