October 7, 2023 - Relocating 900+ wines (Richmond district): Aromas of deep, fresh and pure yellow fruits (melon, starfruit and pears) but with white flowers and tons of it, dry tree bark and a beautiful earthiness. There’s this elusive scent of walnut shell that kept peeking in and out at first, but with some time has opened up and come out to play. This slowly develops a bit of lushness with some time, providing a gentle creaminess to the aromas while maintaining a light profile.

Flavors of deep and fresh green apples with yellow fruits, clean stones, subtle bitterness from some stone fruit, and bitter hay on the finish that rounds out the freshness. There is a nice familiarity from the bitterness, almost like petrol from a riesling. The fresh, crisp attributes from the green apples keep this lively and prickly on the tongue. As it comes to room temp with some air, a creamier mouthfeel develops, making this a bit more luxurious while keeping its freshness.

I prefer this at cellar temp though, as it seemed to carry a bit more swiftness. This seems to be in a great drinking window with the proper amount of age. Really enjoyed the complexity here. This also went well with the creamy corn pasta with basil, giving the wine a bit more creaminess in texture.

July 14, 2015 - Dark yellow gold. We decanted for 3+ hours before finally sipping. It finally achieved expectations after 5 hours. Nose was beautiful blend of oak, butter and some citrus/floral notes. Palate clearly restrained, but smooth and tasty with hints of vanilla, cream and oak. We were pleased to try this barely legal bottle now, but will wait another 5 to 10 years for another sipping...it will be glorious!

August 7, 2014 - La Maison D'Olivier Leflaive Visit; 8/7/2014-8/9/2014 (Place du Monument, 21 190, Puligny-Montrachet): Light silvery gold. Nose is wow....restrained but beautifully elegant and aloof. Sun dried whole lemons, limestone, beautifully harmonious. Melted salted butter. Very sophisticated but you need to chase after it. Palate is OFMG....no sharp edges but very much at the high notes end of the piano. Extremely precise. Predominant acidity because of its youth but you can see it's potential to mature into something really special in 10-15 years. At the moment it would be a waste to open a bottle, which I guess is where the winery dinner serves it purpose.
