June 30, 2017 - Aged wonderfully. Picked this wine up on a great bargain.. Stupid wholesalers just don't know how to sell very good wines from a great producer. Lemon zest, lemon pith, gravel, wax, tart sour green apples on the nose. Color is light pale straw. Wine very clean and focused on the pallet. Acidity balanced both in the nose and pallet. Flavors Echo the nose, showing the Balance between a rich round mouth feel, tart green apple acidity, mineralality. The waxiness show up more on the back end and in the nose along with a faint hint of bitter green fruit. Which is not a negative or a flaw, but an added naunce. Finish lingers for at least 30 plus seconds. no signs of oxidation or age. Very nice

April 4, 2017 - Nice heft, with persistent finish of wet stones. Killer minerality, citrus topnote w whiff of clementine. Less residual sugar than expected. Craves food and contemplation, and deserves both.

March 5, 2017 - The best part of our meal, nicely acidic with hints of grass and the requisite lemon component. I could see this aging further to allow the acid to mingle just a bit better, but with Cajun food at Schilleci's, the acidity was perfect (not overly hot, just well spiced). Easily my best restaurant purchase at 1.5x retail in awhile.

October 21, 2015 - sweet smelling, cinnamon buns
It's dry though, intense with notes of honey and pepper
    Great acidity
    Long finish

    September 14, 2015 - 4 g/l residual sugar.

Limpid pale green color. Very rich, powerful and distinctive nose with smoky and surprisingly dry aromas of exotic spices, fresh golden apples, some stony minerality and a little bit of sweet, ripe stone fruit and a touch of chalk dust. The wine is powerful, acid-driven and quite broad-shouldered on the palate with moderately full body and intense flavors of ripe red apples, piercing steely minerality, some mirabelle plums, a little bit of ripe white fruits and a hint of spicy bitterness. The wine feels remarkably high in acidity for a Pinot Gris. The finish is fresh, acid-driven and even more complex than the midpalate with flavors of ripe apples, mirabelle plums, some hay, a little bit of slightly oxidative, nutty complexity, hints of chalky minerality and a touch of smoke.

A very complex, structured and even quite fresh Alsatian Pinot Gris that shows the weight, ripeness and heft typical of the variety, but also a remarkable streak of crunchy acidity and bright minerality that make this wine stand tall above so many of its peers. Usually if an Alsatian Pinot Gris shows this much freshness and acidity, its fruit department feels thin, nimble and lacking depth; conversely, if an Alsatian Pinot Gris shows this much ripeness and power, it usually lacks freshness and energy. This wine combines effortlessly both of these characteristics into one. A beautiful, complex and hands-down delicious effort that will continue to evolve for years. Recommended.
