December 3, 2023 - This bottle was in great shape, and was immediately ready to go after pulling the cork, but only got better with 2-3 hours of air. The nose showcases aromas of rosemary, mint, licorice, and underbrush melded with dark cherry and blackberry fruit. With time, coffee and tobacco emerged as well. It is big and open in the mouth, featuring a blend of dark and red fruits, licorice, and herbs, followed by a long, expressive finish. Well balanced with good acidity and structure in-tact. I sense a good degree of bottle variation judging by the wide range of notes on this - based on this bottle, it seems to be hitting at near peak.

November 17, 2023 - very enjoyable. Opened one hour before but longer would have been better. started a little tight and spicy but lightened up over time and the fruit came through

October 20, 2023 - Had blind in a Brunello tasting. 5 wines - 1x2010 (this wine), 2x2016 and 2x2017. 4th out of 5, beating only the 17 Fattoria dei Barbi.

Notes of kids cherry cough syrup. Don't get the hype, don't understand why people are taking up room in their cellars with this, and as my last bottle can't say I'm going to miss reading the notes on the remaining 16,497 bottles.

(Il Poggione (Proprietá Franceschi) Brunello di Montalcino) Medium dark red violet color; floral, raspberry, tart cherry, sandalwood, clove nose; tasty, velvety, rounded, ripe cherry, tart raspberry puree palate with near medium acidity; approachable now but could use 6-plus years; long finish (14.5% alcohol)
