March 30, 2020 - Open for business, although still firmly tannic. No crime to start opening these

March 28, 2020 - Decanted & aired for 90 minutes prior to enjoying. Dark cherry & spice flavors. Extremely soft and balanced with nice length.

March 23, 2020 - Still on the young side but it is so good now - and so well made! Garnet colour, cherries, lots of clear fruit, intensity and soft tannins balanced with a refined acidic spine. Great wine, great Sangiovese expression and the wine is most likely still on the curve upwards in quality.

March 23, 2020 - Sharp sandalwood, Asian spice, leather and broken down cherries. Plenty of acidity and showing positive signs of maturity. Doesn’t seem too hot or unbalanced like the ‘06 and after a couple of hours the firm tannins recede slightly, bringing together the spiky sweetness. Definitely in the drinking zone, it is worth starting to work through the case now.

March 16, 2020 - Ugh, this thing is kind of a mess right now. Disjointed and a little bit of cough syrup. Bright red fruits underneath but in an awkward phase right now. Do not open this right now, give it time. Hopefully will take a turn for the better.

(Il Poggione (Proprietá Franceschi) Brunello di Montalcino) Medium dark red violet color; floral, raspberry, tart cherry, sandalwood, clove nose; tasty, velvety, rounded, ripe cherry, tart raspberry puree palate with near medium acidity; approachable now but could use 6-plus years; long finish (14.5% alcohol)
