Community Tasting Notes 9

September 21, 2022 - Wednesday Afternoon Wine Tasting (Kevin and Vicki's House): Decanted for one hour then poured back in bottle for transport. I think in general Archery Summit is overpriced, although they make some pretty good wines in some vintages. The 2010 is my favorite, but this is not too far behind. The nose shows typical Dundee Hill cherry notes with some bramble and spice. I thought the nose was good, but not quite as expressive as the 2011 St Innocent or 2012 Antica Terra Certas. The palate however was much better than the St Innocent and on par with Antica Terra. It showed plenty of red and dark cherry, some plum notes, and some cedar and cherry bark notes, with hints of earth and baking spice. Just a hair below my last bottle, but still quite tasty! 93+ for me today.

September 21, 2022 - Wine Wednesday (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Medium dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over 2 hours. Deep dark fruits, black raspberry, black cherry, cherry, tar. Medium plus bodied, tart, sleek, powerful, lovely, dark sexy berries, cherry vanilla, long. 92+pts.

July 31, 2021 - PnP and consumed over 2 hours. Pleasantly surprised by how expressive the nose was and how delicious the palate was! Nose showed red cherry, current and violets, with some cedar and spice. Palate followed suit with tart cherry, dark cherry, followed by violets and spices with noted of cigar box. I think this wine is in a prime window now, but should remain here for a while. easy 94 to 94+! Best Pinot by Archery Summit since their outstanding 2010! BRAVO!

June 14, 2020 - A very enjoyable pinot, and fond memories of our visit to the winery in the Willamette Valley several years ago. This certainly has a number of years ahead of it.

February 14, 2019 - Valentine's Day wine, and this bottle totally lives up to the hype. Lots of earth, dark cherry, dry full flavor. Big full Pinot, tasting bigger and more complex than our previous bottle. A wonderful wine for a special occasion.
