August 7, 2016 - Superb wine, thought it was gonna light bodied but turns out border line medium to full, very nice body. Blast of black fruits. Definitely a gem austrian wine.

February 27, 2016 - Popped and poured - not a good idea for this wine now. Light to medium purple in the glass. On the nose, the barnyard pong (and that's an euphemism here) overpowered everything else. Once we got past that, it was nice and fresh in the mouth, medium fruit with floral notes. Decanted the rest of the bottle. Within half an hour the farmyard punch had mellowed greatly, to a point where it harmonised with the dark fruit and cherry notes nicely. Hints of cigar, leather and stone appeared. Medium acidity, medium to low tannins. Decent complexity and good balance (aside from the initial overpowering funk), and certainly an interesting wine from a grape that is too often known for producing uninteresting wines.

November 20, 2015 - Blueberries, cherries, smoky, meaty notes, spices. On the palate again quite spicy with sweet concentrated fruit, very clean, very fresh - very well balanced. Mineral finish with really good persistence. 91-93
