August 25, 2018 - It's a testament to the quality of this wine that it could still be delicious after 14 years. That is unprecedented territory for a Chardonnay. This was my last bottle, and it did not disappoint. I found a lot of bottle variation over the course of a case, despite the screwcap, with some displaying markedly more oiliness than others. I drank the first at 10 years of age, and the wine did not develop noticably over the following 4 years. Crisp acidity still shines through and doubtless helped the wine stay fresh this long. I found that once opened the wines tended to deteriorate relatively promptly even under vacuum and refrigeration. I suggest a brief airing followed by consumption at around 12-14 degrees in one evening or over two at a pinch.

September 18, 2012 - Kumeu River Masterclass (PWS Melbourne): Again medium gold, with developed nose. This has aged nicely and is drinking very well now. A good long rich finish. An excellent wine.

November 6, 2011 - Very solid chardonnay which stands between new and old world styles.

Deeper golden that the 1st two bottles and this has a very similar profile to the 2nd wine but perhaps more aged and less intense. Citrus Lemony fruits intermixed with green herbs and mineral on the nose with slightly nutty on the palate with good focus, but slightly leaner than the 2nd wine with medium length finish that drive by mineral and stone fruits.

July 30, 2011 - Dark golden colour. Reckon its already over the top, with aroma of butter, lemon, slate minerality and quite heavy oxidation. Lemon, citrus, mineral and herby flavour on the palate, one dimension with short acidic finish.
