May 8, 2022 - Very smooth, earthy and burgundian

April 13, 2021 - Pomegranate, cherry fruit, a little rhubarb. Almost sharp at the beginning. But then the mushroom and earthiness kick in, with a touch of baking spice. It's the back half of this wine that really makes it. Great with sausage & pasta, but is going to be great with anything meaty.

12/12/2021 Didn't note it being quite so bright this time, raspberry & cherry fruit, and then the earthiness, almost dirty (in a good way). Finish was a little short.

October 4, 2017 - Agree with mv2007 about the strawberry/rhubarb profile. The strawberry in particular is pure and generous without being jammy and overbearing. Silky texture overall with a grippy and toasty finish. Held its own against a '15 Wren Hop Night Children, which is no mean feat. This wine, not surprisingly, is more evolved and accessible than the WH at this point, and actually a damn good value at <= $45. I'd say at least three great years left in it, possibly quite longer given the screwtop enclosure.

May 13, 2016 - Briary, strawberry and intense rhubarb. Lacking the earthy element of some of the best Clos Pepe bottlings but still good if too intense for my tastes (at least without food).

January 25, 2016 - PNP and thru Vinturi ( screwcap closure). This young and vivacious Pinot has explosive aromas of red fruit, rhubarb, and pomegranate. Full on the palate with tastes of sweet red fruit, porcini mushroom, more rhubarb, and hints of Saigon cinnamon. Very pleasurable and refreshing drink at a $45 price point. May develop some secondary characteristics with several years in slumber.
