January 16, 2020 - Enjoyed a portion of the bottle on day one (90pts). Luscious red, somewhat sweet dark fruit; medium aroma. Day two after being corked with a Repour stopper, somewhat disappointed. Dark muted red fruit. One dimensional; no real depth of flavors, complexity or interesting flavors.

September 6, 2018 - Last of these enjoyed tonight and I must say that I was really quite impressed. My last impression of this wine ended in an NR rating, but I think I'm ready to give this one a 91. This wine started rather flabby in the front. This is a parcel of three Lake Hennessy / Pritchard Hill vineyards so in hindsight I probably should have kept the cork in this one for another 10 years. Still pretty delicious tonight. Dark, thick, blackberry cassis, hint of iodine. Middle of this wine shows a gritty, terroir-driven note. The finish is where this one kind of lacks. A little acidic, mature black fruit, black pepper, but really not very long....at all. I think this one could benefit from a couple more years in the bottle, but not sure how much more this one would improve in the bottle, if at all.

August 11, 2016 - Soft medium plus textured body with soft tannins. Sweet red and purple fruit with spicy tobacco. Acid is pretty high as is the oak treatment but should be great in 1-2 years. Best open an hour or two before drinking. A steal at $29 bucks.

November 12, 2015 - A little paradoxical. I experienced one of these previous vintages of this wine that was a "man's man" from start to finish (Natural Light beer with an overcooked hungry man dinner through and through). This vintage had a rather red flower kind of nose (hibiscus!). Smelled like a field of wildflowers. Odd for mountain fruit. Wine was assaulted quite viciously in a decanter for about 30 minutes and served. Nose was better but was still wildflower-y with a mental scene I expected to see in a Downy commercial. But, after an hour, the nose here was dark blackberry, sweet toffee on the nose. Blackberry on the palate, and quite a bit was here, but also had a note of grilled meat and potatoes. Dark middle turning sweeter. Finish has good rounded fruit but there was a significant presence of an earthy and sort of chocolate-y goodness here. Really nice wine. Lots of things here, and will surely improve with 1-2 years of time in bottle. Drink by 2019.
