December 4, 2017 - P/w no decant, 10 min in glass. Similar to last bottle 13 month ago. Med to full body, good drinking window. Some dusty tannins, typical of grape. Nothing off. $25

October 15, 2017 - Pw/no decant. Clear, deep dark purple. This drank very smooth with no rough edge at all. Easy, soft, rounded, tannins fully resolved. Fully mature, porch pounder, drink now.

August 19, 2016 - Mostly modern, with a touch of old world, oakey, big and masculine for a cab franc, missing the vegetal profile. A little rough. Pretty good.

March 22, 2016 - Tasted at Country Vintner Mid Atlantic Spring Tasting.

great example of Argentine Cab Franc. Very dark ripe and new world style. No green pepper but more medicinal and femenine than Catena's other reds at this price point.

black fruit, mocha, dark chocolate and french oak. ashy finish.
    I dig it.

June 19, 2015 - Midsummer eve grilled meats and wine (home): rancid butter on the first whiff, although it quickly fades. Leaving a full bodied, modern style, oaky cab franc that is very far removed in style and appearance from its distant cousins in the loire valley. Go easy on the new oak for crying out loud! there seems to be excellent fruit underneath and you could make the call that you should store this for 10 yrs or so, but I just worry that it will come apart at the seams before all that new oak is fully integrated. let's see how it fares with grilled meat tonight. after all, it's an argentinean.

This wine comes into its own after several hours in the decanter. Much better but still not close to what I think could be achieved with such material.
