October 31, 2023 - A little bottle variation. This one much better than last. Ripe, dense. Higher alcohol levels than some might prefer. A bit sweeter fruit. Mildly elevated acidity.

August 11, 2023 - This bottle was BIG. A wonderful full body Cab that will take your breath away. The last bottle I had must have been flawed. (read my review 4/3/2023). Funny that from bottle to bottle wine can change so much. The 2012 is really showing it's wonderful flavors. This is a great time to enjoy Luc's master piece that is in the perfect window to savor.

May 4, 2023 - A generous gift from my son-in-law in 2001 I waited a few years and started Coravin tasting in January, March and April of this year. Finally pulled the cork tonight and got two nice glasses to go with dinner.
Drinking wonderfully now, the right age for a quality Napa cab. Smooth, velvety tannins flow with the dark red fruit. Long satisfying finish that stood up to a delicious sausage, broccoli and garlic dish with farfalle pasta. Normally I would have paired the dish with a Sangiovese based wine but only wanted a glass each and this held up perfectly.

April 3, 2023 - It's been 2 years since my last bottle and they were outstanding. I don't know if this bottle was off or if the wine is transitioning. The spice flavor in this bottle was overwhelming and not for the better. I had not experienced it like this in any of my others. I still have seven in cellar. I will try another soon to see any difference. No rating at this time.

December 12, 2022 - Decanted briefly. This is showing fabulously with cassis, sweet acid, dark earth that strengthened with an hour of air, full, silky body. The Coeur de Vallee is the most crowd-pleasing of Luc's cuvees and this is probably the best example I've tasted. Bravo!
