btwine Does not like this wine: 75 points
March 26, 2021 - Inky black appearance. Dark purple lilac and rubbing alcohol nose. Elderberry cough syrup, oak pulp, and medicinalish flavors. Also Marionberry cake frosting. Some pleasant dark plum and port notes. Very boozy, entirely too much alcohol. I’m not enjoying this enough for what was a $30 purchase with 4 years to mature in my cellar. I don’t think this is due to age either, even though CT shows this as past peak: the tannins are still intact and I don’t taste anything rotten or stale. A disappointing find in the back of my cellar.

June 4, 2018 - Received as a gift. Decanted and consumed over the next couple of hours. Definitely a quaffing wine that lacks any notes worth commenting on. So many "good" wines in this price range so don't waste your wine $$ on this weak effort. WS once again lacks credibility by rating this wine a 92. And then RP rates it a 94. Help me! I need a drink.

April 15, 2018 - Lots of dark fruit, without much residual structure. Lots of heat from the high alcohol content. Pleasant after hour decant, easy drinking.

March 19, 2018 - Very big and juicy, with lots of black and blue fruit, leather, and oak. I agree with others that there is a lot of heat from its alcohol content, requiring a long decant. Not the most complex wine, but very drinkable and enjoyable.
