Community Tasting Notes 1

September 6, 2014 - Some orange bricking makes it look like an older Burgundy. Popped and poured which was probably not the best idea. Ethereal nose with lifted scents of strawberries, roses and tar. Smells evolved but not oxidized. On the palate an initial upswing of concentrated strawberry and roses soaked in eau de vie which finishes rather abruptly with clamp down tannins. On the second day under argon the alcohol was overbearing and burned the mouth rendering ot undrinkable. Old school Barolo which needs another 15 years perhaps??
