  April 15, 2019 - At peak or just over peak. This wine has progressively gotten better and better over the past few years. Not at all complex, but it brings good balance and a diversity of interesting notes, ranging from brambly blackberries to dried leather and tobacco to soy sauce and funk, and packages it all well on the palate and into the finish. Drink now. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 92.

  May 29, 2018 - Consistent with previous notes, only the oak is more integrated, the black fruit is more forward and revealing, and the savory funky notes are more prominent. Overall, the wine has become more expressive and has more character. Probably at peak though the tannins are still thick. Drink 2018-2020. Technical score: 89. Enjoyment score: 90.

  April 25, 2017 - This has improved and is more integrated than 15 months ago. Still heavy on the oak, especially on the nose, but there is a good weight and viscosity in the wine. Nice black fruit mixed with a funky/savory soy sauce streak. Technical score: 88. Enjoyment score: 89.

  January 24, 2016 - Took about 45 min to open up and even out, but still too much manipulation, oak, and overall extraction. Smooth but doesn't feel authentic. Still, it's likely a crowd pleaser and it had good weight and a silky texture.
