October 1, 2022 - Decanted two hours. Wine is awake now. Dark black color. Nose is for sure Old World Italian. First sip is full of great flavor layers. Some brown edges and a bit of rancio flavors. Not sure I could guess this wine if tasted blind. You could easily guess Toscana but Campania? Probably not. Not even for someone like me who has spent a lot of time in this region. Still a very solid wine that can age for many more years. I would pick out Merlot for sure but maybe not Cab or Aglianico.

July 20, 2022 - I enjoyed this wine very much. Nice acidity and more tannin structure than I expected from a blend. It’s well on its way to transitioning to tertiary flavors of leather, and wet leaves. However, I still perceived some nice red and black cherry on the palate. Not tired in any way. I wish I picked up some more. It just occurred to me that this is a pre-Super Tuscan (albeit from Salerno), produced well before Robert Parker coined that name.

July 16, 2022 - Is this Wine waking up? Decanted 90 minutes. Poured half glasses. Wine is full, layers of flavors and Italian terroir. Where was this my first two bottles. This is really excellent now. Paired with seafood pasta in a garlic, Parmesan cream sauce. Long, lingering finish with nice extraction. Maybe this wine just needs more age. Excellent.

July 13, 2022 - First of this varietal. Excellent nose: plenty of fruit, little earth, and a tiny amount of baking spice? (cinnamon/nutmeg?). Medium+ acidity, moderate tannins. Not my favorite style necessarily, but great pairing with homemade pasta with Salil!

December 24, 2021 - Decanted 90 minutes. Bigger and bold flavors with lots of life yet. Nose is Old World. Cab is not overpowering but harmonious with the Merlot & Aglianico. Nice blend no doubt. Very Italian.
