August 13, 2023 - Decanted over cocktails. This is showing beautifully, a full-bodied cult Cab with supple tannins and blueberry liqueur with cassis. Super crowd pleaser!

February 2, 2023 - To me this wine has aged out. While still smooth and enjoyable, it has lost most of the fruit flavors that I loved a few years ago, and has more of the earthy flavors that some people enjoy more than I do.

July 9, 2022 - Took 3 hrs in a decanter to finally open a bit, after an hour of intermittent sips. Until the 3 hr mark, this was a mess and just not good. When the air finally cracked it open, black and blue fruit along with earthy dirt and charred embers, with some tannins still in the way. Not much else to report here—a mix of disappointment and some user error. My only and last bottle of the ‘12 KE
I thought 10 yrs and 2 hr decant would open this—the KE’s either need 12-15 yrs or minimum 4 hrs in the decanter along with a warning label on the bottle to remind me of that.3 people found this helpful Comments (3) -

November 24, 2021 - Decanted over cocktails. This is aging beautifully with a sturdy bedrock of tannins, savory blackcurrant, slate, and full body. Feels like there is more evolution in store but very good now.
